INSECURITY: HON AGWAI CALLED FOR MASSIVE SECURITY OVERHAUL

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called for a comprehensive security overhaul to address the growing wave of banditry across communities in Niger State.

Hon. John Kasa Agwai, a chieftain of the ADC, made the call while speaking with journalists, describing the renewed attacks in Erena, Banga, and other communities in Shiroro Local Government Area as “callous and inhuman.”

He urged the Federal Government to intensify efforts in protecting citizens, noting that innocent lives continue to be lost daily to bandit attacks across parts of the state.

Agwai said the protection of lives and property remains the primary responsibility of government, but accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of failing Nigerians in this regard.

He further appealed to residents of Shiroro, Munya, and Rafi Local Government Areas to support the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections, promising that the party would take decisive action to end banditry and kidnapping if voted into power.

According to him, the ADC is committed to classifying kidnappers and bandits as terrorists and ensuring they face the harshest penalties under the law.

He added that the party’s “New Deal” agenda is aimed at resetting Nigeria and Niger State on the path of development, peace, and security.
