SOKOTO POLICE COMMAND APPREHEND KEY FINANCIERS OF BANDITS..
No fewer than three (3) suspected financiers and informants linked to the notorious Lakurawa bandit group, have been apprehended by Sokoto State Police Command.
The trio were said to have been arrested on Tuesday, 3 December 2025, around 2:00 p.m. while allegedly trying to sell four rustled cows to innocent buyers in a local market.
Prominent among those who were arrested is Ruwa Ginyo, the recognised Fulani head (Sarkin Fulani) of Gidan-Madi community in Tangaza Local Government Area.
Preliminary investigation showed that the suspects specialise in disposing of cattle stolen by the bandits and transferring the proceeds back to the terror group, thereby sustaining their criminal operations.
All three suspects have confessed to the crime. Police say interrogations are continuing in order to dismantle the wider financing network and recover more stolen livestock.
