NIGER STATE RESUMES GRATUITY PAYMENTS TO STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT RETIREES.

The Niger State Government has announced the resumption of gratuity payments to State and Local Government retirees as part of efforts to clear outstanding liabilities and improve the welfare of pensioners.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Minna, the government said the exercise reflects Gov. Mohammed Umaru Bago’s commitment to ensuring that retired public servants receive their entitlements.
According to the statement, gratuities have so far been paid up to Batch 11 for State Government retirees, while payment of Batch 12 will commence immediately.
It added that the government would also resume payment of Batch 3 gratuities for Local Government retirees.
The statement noted that the administration had continued to sustain the prompt payment of monthly pensions while gradually offsetting gratuity arrears owed to retirees.
It further stated that the Ministry of Information and Orientation is poised to keep the public informed about all government policies and programmes, ensuring transparency and effective communication of government activities.
It commended the Director-General of the Niger State Pension Board, Alhaji Nasiru Saidu Namaska, as well as the management and staff of the board for ensuring a transparent and seamless payment process.
The government also appreciated retirees for their patience and understanding, assuring them of its continued commitment to their welfare.
Beneficiaries were advised to cooperate with the Niger State Pension Board to facilitate a smooth payment exercise.
