KATSINA CLASH: BANDITS LEADER LOSSES SON, 8 RELATIVES

Banditry in Katsina suffered a serious setback as notorious bandit leader Ado Aleiro reportedly lost his son, eight other family members, and about 30 motorcycles during a recent encounter in Doma village, Katsina State.

This development significantly weakened the operational strength and mobility of Aleiro’s criminal network.

The Intelligence obtained by counter-insurgency expert and security analyst Zagazola Makama shows that none of the estimated 30 motorcycles deployed by the syndicate during the encounter returned, with their riders said to have been neutralised.

Moreover, Aleiro’s son and eight other members of his family were also killed during the encounter.

However, the loss of the motorcycles is considered particularly significant because they are widely used by criminal groups operating across the North-West for rapid movement, communication and transportation of supplies.

Following the reported losses, intelligence indicated that the notorious bandit kingpin, was as of 3:51 p.m. on Sunday, moving alone on a motorcycle around the Sakya Dutse, Higi and Asaula areas.

His movements were reportedly being monitored by security sources seeking to determine his next destination and assess the condition of his remaining network.

Further intelligence indicated that Aleiro was also concerned about the vulnerability of a proposed location for his illegal mining activities at Gidan Buhari, under Chadiya Ward in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Although, the notorious bandit leader feared that the location could come under attack by Yansakai operating from Tsafe town.

Meanwhile, the security agencies are expected to sustain surveillance of Aleiro’s movements while assessing the full extent of the losses suffered by his network.
