The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Bida, Gbako and Katcha Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Hon. Mohammed Abubakar, popularly known as Abacon, has pledged to provide effective and people-centred representation if elected.
Speaking with journalists in Bida Local Government Area of Niger State, Abubakar said representation at the National Assembly should go beyond political grandstanding, stressing that it should focus on influencing policies and attracting development that directly improves the lives of constituents.
According to him, the Bida, Gbako and Katcha Federal Constituency is richly endowed with human, natural and agricultural resources that can be unlocked through visionary leadership, accountability, strategic partnerships and sustained engagement with the people.

He, however, lamented that the constituency has experienced years of inadequate representation, poor infrastructure, particularly in the health sector, and limited economic opportunities.
“Our people deserve a representative who understands their struggles, listens to their concerns and works tirelessly to improve their quality of life. They can no longer afford representation that is disconnected from their daily realities,” he said.
Abubakar said the 2027 general election offers an opportunity to redefine representation through competence, accessibility and transformational leadership.

He pledged to champion people-oriented policies that would harness the constituency’s vast agricultural potential to stimulate economic growth and development.
