2027 ELECTION: IMO GOVERNOR JOINS SENATORIAL RACE

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has formally announced his entrance into the race for the Imo West senatorial ticket under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

The Imo State Governor made the announcement via his verified social media handles on Sunday.

Other contestants seeking the same mandate under the APC include former governor Rochas Okorocha and Senator Osita Izunaso, who is currently representing the zone in the Senate.

The APC leaders from the zone announced the purchase of the nomination form for the governor two weeks ago, maintaining that he was their consensus candidate.

Governor Uzodimma said he had accepted the call by the people of the Imo West Senatorial Zone to consolidate on the gains of the Renewed Hope administration of President Bola Tinubu, and to enhance development and progress in the area.

” The Imo West senatorial seat belongs to the APC, adding that he was a dedicated candidate entrusted with the responsibility of projecting and advancing the ideals, vision and aspirations of the party.” Uzodimma declared

Speaking further, he said he had already appeared before the APC leadership and the party’s screening committee for the National Assembly primary election.

The governor said, “My dear people of Imo West Senatorial District have once again called upon me to serve, and I have accepted this noble call with utmost humility, sincerity of purpose, and unwavering commitment to the collective advancement of our people.
