MONEY TRANSFERRED TO MY ACCOUNT BY THE COUP PLOTTERS WAS FOR PRAYERS– SHEIKH SANI

Sheikh Sani Abdulkadir, the sixth defendant in the ongoing trial of suspects of the failed coup against president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has disclosed that he warned the failed coup plotters not to topple President Tinubu’s administration.
The Islamic Cleric disclosed this on Monday, 11 May 2026 in video which was played at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
In the said video, Sheikh Sani Zaria Abdulkadir described himself as an Islamic cleric, stating that he has known the ringleader of the alleged coup Colonel Ma’aji for less than a year and that he was approached by a man whom he called Sanda for prayers over the success of the coup.

According to him, Sanda met him and request prayers for his oga whom he said was planing to stage a coup.
After carrying out prayers for them, he informed them that the plot would fail and that they will be exposed because two of the coup plotters would betray them.
Sheikh Sani maintained that his message was conveyed to Leaders of the Coup through Sanda who also informed him as feedback that the leaders requested more prayers necessary to avert betrayal by the two suspects.
He explained that money was subsequently sent to him for more prayers and for charity.He added that the names of the two suspects who would betray the group, were sent to him for inclusive prayer.
He said that a few days after he commenced the prayer, Sanda informed him that the ringleader of the coup plot, Colonel Ma’aji had not been seen for several days and could not be reached. He revealed that he later learnt through the media that Colonel Ma’aji has been arrested in connection to the coup plot.
