NASSARAWA 2027: GOV. SULE’S CANDIDATE DEFEATS THE FORMER POLICE CHIEF FOR APC TICKET
Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, the preferred candidate of the Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Alhaji Sule, has won the gubernatorial primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State.
Wadada, who is currently the Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate, polled 196,090 to defeat the former Police Chief who secured a total of 42,397 votes.
The preffered candidate of the Nassarawa State Governor, Senator Wadada won all the Local Government Areasof the state except Keana, where he was defeated by his main challenger, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, a former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), who scored 4,900 votes.
Although, the former police chief enjoys the support of former Nassarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, that did not secure the victory.
Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada had, prior to the exercise held on Thursday, May 21, been endorsed by Governor Abdullahi Alhaji Sule as his preferred choice of successor.
