IMPROVE PUBLIC NOTIFICATION ON DIVERSIONS AND BLOCKAGES ,NIGER GOVERNMENT URGES CONSTRUCTION FIRMS

The Niger State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Obed Nuhu Nana, has appealed to road construction companies handling various infrastructural projects across the state to consistently provide adequate public notice on road diversions and temporary blockages in order to ease vehicular movement within Minna metropolis and other affected areas.

The Commissioner noted that timely information and proper directional signage at construction sites would significantly reduce traffic congestion and inconvenience to motorists and residents.

Mr. Nana reaffirmed the Ministry’s appreciation to the Governor of Niger State, Farmer Governor Umar Mohammed Bago, for his deliberate and visionary infrastructural transformation agenda aimed at repositioning the state under the New Niger initiative.

According to him, Minna, the state capital, is already witnessing remarkable transformation through the construction of modern roads, overhead bridges, underpasses, a remodeled state secretariat, installation of digital streetlights, and several other landmark projects currently underway.

He stressed that while these developmental projects may temporarily disrupt traffic flow in some locations, the long-term benefits to the state and its residents remain invaluable.

The Commissioner therefore made the commitment to engage relevant authorities to compel construction companies to maintain effective communication with the public regarding road closures and alternative routes throughout the duration of their projects.

He also called on residents and motorists to remain patient, cooperative, and supportive as government continues to intensify efforts toward ensuring smoother vehicular movement and successful execution of ongoing New Niger projects across the state.

Mr. Nana assured citizens that the Ministry of Information and Orientation remains committed to supporting the infrastructural development drive and overall transformation agenda of the Bago administration.
