NIGER EAST 2027: ARC BAWA’S INDUSTRIALIZATION PLEDGE

Arc (Dr.) John Agmada Bawa, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Niger East Senatorial District in the 2027 general election, has pledged to focus on industrialization to transform the region’s development.

Speaking with journalists, Dr. Agmada described Niger East as a natural agri-industrial region with the potential to accelerate economic growth in Niger State and across Nigeria.

He noted that the district supports year-round farming (both dry and rainy seasons) capable of supplying raw materials to various industries.

However, he identified high fertilizer costs, expensive farm implements, and long-standing insecurity as major barriers to agricultural growth.

To solve these challenges, Dr. Agmada promised to use legislative tools to establish modular industries for producing semi-organic fertilizers.

He also vowed to partner with security agencies to permanently resolve the insecurity that has plagued Niger East for nearly a decade.

Under his proposed framework, the senatorial district would be divided into three zones.

Each zone comprising three local government areas would host a modular factory for semi-organic fertilizer production, resulting in three such industries across the entire district.

Dr. Agmada criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration and the current representative of Niger East, accusing them of failing to handle the region’s security crisis effectively. He promised a new approach to combat banditry and restore stability.

He claimed that constituents in Niger East have lost confidence in the APC, asserting that incumbent representatives risk public rejection if they campaign in parts of the district.

He urged voters to accept campaign funds from the ruling party but vote for the NDC.

Furthermore, Dr. Agmada pledged to resign or face a recall if he fails to deliver on his promises after being elected.

Stating that his previous electoral experience has prepared him for the role, he asked constituents to keep hope alive, promising that the NDC will bring the long-awaited dividends of democracy directly to their communities.
