POLICE KILL BANDITS, RECOVER ₦10 MILLION IN RANSOM”

The Kano State Police Command has neutralized two suspected bandits and successfully recovered a N10 million ransom following an operation in Falgore Forest.
According to a statement released on Saturday by the command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the operation also led to the safe release of a kidnapped victim named Kabiru Aliyu.
The incident began when three suspected bandits, tracking from Maigwanda village in the Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State, emerged from the forest to collect the ransom for Aliyu, who had been abducted the previous Sunday.
Immediately after pocketing the N10 million cash, the suspects released the victim unharmed. However, their escape was cut short when local hunters, widely known as “Yan Bula,” ambushed them as they attempted to retreat into their Falgore Forest hideout.
A fierce confrontation ensued during the ambush, resulting in the death of two suspects, while the third managed to flee into the bush with gunshot wounds. Local hunters recovered the entire N10 million ransom intact from the scene.
Spokesperson Kiyawa noted that preliminary investigations have identified one of the deceased suspects as Dogo Isah, a commercial motorcyclist from Maigwanda Village in Kaduna State.
Meanwhile, the rescued victim has undergone medical examination, been debriefed by officials, and happily reunited with his family.
