ILORIN RESIDENTS ESCAPE BANDITS

At least three residents from the Abudu Community in the Ilorin East Local Government Area (LGA) of Kwara State have successfully escaped from a bandits’ hideout after being held captive for several months.
The escapees were part of a larger group of nine abductees who had been captured from various communities at different times before being held together by the criminal gang.
The group of nine includes one Nupe, three Yoruba, and two Fulani victims, while authorities are still working to verify the identities of the remaining individuals.
Local sources state that the victims fled the forest and managed to trek to Lata Nna in the Patigi Local Government Area, where they were safely received by Nigerian military personnel.
It remains unconfirmed whether the three Abudu residents are the same individuals taken during a violent raid on their community on July 29.
During that July invasion, armed bandits stormed the area, kidnapped a pregnant woman alongside two other locals, and stole roughly ₦4 million from the village,.
.Security updates from platforms like Punch Newspaper indicate that ongoing investigations aim to confirm the identities of all the escapees and determine if they were the specific victims of the July assault.
