KAGARA EMIRATE BLEEDS

Kagara Emirate is one of the most peaceful and Law abiding Community in Niger State.
It comprises of many native dwellers such as Kamuku, Pangu, Ingwai, Hausa, Urra, Bauchi and the Basawa. There are good number of Fulani all over the Emirate.
As a result of the hospitality of the native tribes, many settler communities are found in large numbers such as Gwari,Nupe,Yoruba,Garra, and others.
The Kamuku tribes are predominantly farmers, hunters, with passion in animal husbandry.
The Fulani are known for massive cattle rearing and small scale cropping.
The two tribes had stayed together peacefully for hundreds of years.
It’s a pity that today, there evidences of avoidable skirmishes between the two tribes.
Ordinarily, the Kamuku had provided succour, farmland, protection and hands of friendliness to the Fulani over the years.
It beats one’s imagination that the two hitherto friendly tribes could sing the song of war at one another.
In recent times there has been fighting and killing s amongst the tribes. This is disturbing because of the similarities of the facial looks of the native tribes.
One can hardly differentiate a Kamuku from others because of a long existing environmental influences.
The situation becomes more disturbing as there exists inter marriages between both natives and settler communities.
The Emirate/Rafi LGA has recorded an unprecedented lost of close to Three Hundred Persons, over a hundred houses, and a large quatity of foodstuffs.
It’s worth noting that the Niger State Government,Rafi LGA and the Kagara Emirate Council are on top of the situation.
Powerful Govt Delegation,Mr Governor and his Deputy visited the Emirate as a show of concern.
Similarly, the Emir, Mal. Ahmed Garba Gunna, Attahiru the second, visited almost all the affected houses to console and pay condolences as a show of royal concern.
It’s on record that every situation has a root. The drum of war amongst the two tribes is so alarming that the government has to be more proactive on security matters.
One may not be quick to pre-empt the report of the Niger State Investigation Committee but the body language seems to suggest quests for Farmlands and Politics amongst the root causes of the disturbances.
No matter the findings of the Committee, members of the Community would appreciate making the report public and culprits thoroughly punished.
In order to avert a re-occurance of the ugly situation, there is need for public sensitization on Intelligence gathering, Inter-Tribal tolerance,Community Security Volunteers, and Stop the sales of Farmlands.Above all, more trained and well armed security personnel be deployed to the area.
SO HELP US GOD🙏🏽
