ABIA FOREST HORROR: POLICE RECOVER 28 HUMAN SKULLS

Operatives of the Abia State Police Command have recovered at least 28 human skulls and bones, suspected to be those of kidnapping victims, from two criminal hideouts in the Umuaku-Isuochi and Nneato forests within the Umunneochi Local Government Area of the state.

The massive recovery operation was executed by a joint team comprising the Violent Crime Response Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Anti-Cultism Unit, Intelligence Response Squad, Rapid Response Squad, and officers from the Isuochi Divisional Police Station.

The breakthrough was officially disclosed on Sunday by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Maureen Chinaka.

According to the PPRO, the operation was part of an ongoing intelligence-led raid across the state, ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Afolabi, under the special initiative themed “Operation No Hideout for Criminal Elements in the State.

”The suspects fled the scene upon the arrival of the tactical operatives, after which the police successfully dismantled the criminal camps.“

A total of twenty-eight (28) human skulls and bones, suspected to be those of kidnapping victims, were recovered.

Investigation is ongoing, while monitoring of the area continues, and efforts are intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspects,” Chinaka stated.

Reiterating the command’s stance, the Commissioner of Police emphasized his commitment to ensuring that Abia State remains completely hostile to criminals and their illicit activities.

The police command concluded by urging members of the public to collaborate with law enforcement by promptly reporting any security concerns to the nearest police station.
