EXECUTIVE SECRETARY SUSPENDED BY ADAMAWA GOVERNOR

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has suspended Mr. Birsan Penuel, the Executive Secretary of the State Post Primary Schools Management Board, over alleged irregularities in the discharge of his duties.
The state government announced on Sunday that the immediate suspension was approved by Governor Fintiri to allow for a thorough and unhindered investigation into the allegations.
To prevent any administrative vacuum, the state government has directed the most senior director on the board to oversee its affairs in the interim, ensuring that all routine activities continue without interruption.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, the governor reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to sanitising and repositioning the state’s education sector.
Governor Fintiri emphasized his resolve to protect the integrity of the educational system, stating that he would not hesitate to take tough measures to ensure children in the state receive the quality education they deserve.
The Adamawa State Post Primary Schools Management Board serves as the supervising authority for senior secondary education across the state. The agency is currently conducting a data capture exercise for 5,000 newly recruited teachers drawn from all 21 Local Government Areas.
