Group Mobilises Grassroots Support Across Lagos for 2027 Elections- Lagos East Senatorial District/Ikorodu Division yesterday.

The Lagos Unity Movement (LUM) has unveiled an ambitious Four Million Votes Agenda to mobilise support across Lagos State for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the election of Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as Governor of Lagos State in the 2027 general election.

LUM, an umbrella movement of professionals, technocrats, entrepreneurs, community leaders and progressive stakeholders in Nigeria and the diaspora, said the initiative is driven by its commitment to continuity, good governance, sustainable development and political stability.

Speaking at the unveiling of the initiative in Lagos, the State Coordinator of LUM, Comrade Adeleke Akadri, popularly known as Sayleke, said the movement has commenced the process of strengthening its structures across the 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas, wards and communities of Lagos State.

«“We have committed ourselves to the mobilisation of four million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat in the 2027 general election. This is not a slogan; it is a measurable mobilisation target.”»

According to Sayleke, the Four Million Votes Agenda will be driven through ward-to-ward and polling-unit mobilisation, voter education, grassroots engagement, persuasion, data verification and strategic election-day mobilisation.

He said the movement believes that the reforms and policies of the Tinubu administration require continuity to deliver their full benefits to Nigerians.

«“We have watched closely the bold and courageous steps taken by President Tinubu in confronting Nigeria’s longstanding economic and security challenges. We believe the country needs stability, continuity and the opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms.”»

On Lagos State, the LUM State Coordinator said the movement is equally convinced that Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat possesses the experience, competence and institutional knowledge required to sustain and advance the development trajectory of Lagos.

«“We see in Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat the experience and capacity to provide purposeful leadership, sustain continuity and take Lagos to the next level.”»

Sayleke described the Four Million Votes Agenda as a “herculean but achievable task”, stressing that its success would depend on disciplined organisation, teamwork and sustained engagement with voters at the grassroots.

«“Four million votes is not just a political figure. It is a mobilisation project. We will work from the wards to the polling units, engage our people, educate voters and build the persuasion necessary to achieve this target.”»

He further called on LUM members, progressive Nigerians, community stakeholders, youths, women, professionals and business leaders across Lagos and the diaspora to join hands in the mobilisation effort.

«“This is about collective responsibility. We are building a movement that will speak to the people, engage the people and mobilise the people.”»

The State Coordinator reaffirmed LUM’s commitment to a peaceful, issue-driven and people-oriented campaign, anchored on democratic participation and respect for the electorate.

He concluded:

«“The task ahead is enormous, but with unity, discipline and strategic grassroots mobilisation, the Four Million Votes Agenda is achievable. We are ready. The structure is growing, the strategy is clear, and the work has begun.”»

ONE LAGOS. ONE VOICE. ONE FUTURE.
