KEBBI: NIGERIAN ARMY KILLS SCORES OF BANDITS IN A RECENT CRACKDOWN
“Scores of bandits moving from Zamfara to Kebbi State have been reportedly killed by a precision air strike carried out by the air component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA of the Nigerian Army.”
The development was announced by security analyst Zagazola Makama on his X account.
According to him, the bandits were moving from the Sangeko Gap in Zamfara to Makuku in Kebbi.
The bandits were estimated to be about 240 fighters, operating in three formations and travelling on motorcycles towards the community.”
Following credible intelligence, security forces, including Nigerian Army troops and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, were mobilised to contain the advancing bandits, leading to intense engagements in the area.
After the movement of the Bandits was detected, air interdiction was launched against them
“The air strikes were reportedly carefully executed on identified concentrations of the criminals, resulting in the obliteration of scores of bandits and disrupting their planned movement into the area.
However, the residents of communities closer to the incident have reportedly begun precautionary evacuation as security forces intensified efforts to contain the situation and stop further movement by the armed group.”
