IMAN NIGER STATE SHURAH COMMITTEE URGED TO PRIORITIZE INCLUSIVITY IN LEADERSHIP SELECTION 

The Shurah committee of the Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN), Niger State chapter, has been urged to prioritize diversity, inclusivity, and capacity as the guiding principles for selecting the association’s proposed executives.

During a recent meeting at the Pharmacy Department conference room, the committee chairman, Dr. Mrs. Hadiza Muhammad represented by her vice, Mal. Ibrahim Alhaji Mariga distributed letters of appointment to committee members.

In a statement, she noted that these guidelines will ensure all members are adequately represented in the incoming leadership.Dr. Hadiza emphasized the need to include members from local chapters.

The committee agreed with a member’s suggestion that key positions—including the Chairman, Secretary, and Public Relations Officer (PRO)—should be selected centrally. Members also agreed that each senatorial district must be considered to guarantee fairness and unity

Additionally, the committee noted that some members of the association’s Board of Patrons have passed away and recommended a renewal of the board.

Members appreciated Mal. Ibrahim Alhaji Mariga for his sincerity of purpose and commitment to the committee’s integrity, closing with a prayer that the new executives will lead successfully with the awareness that they are answerable to Allah.

During the discussions, Mal. Alhassan Danjuma Aliyu recalled that he and Mal. Ibrahim Alhaji were among the founding members of the IMAN Niger State chapter in 2001.
