Nigerian troops have recovered a cache of weapons, explosives, and other combat equipment from fleeing Bandits, recording a significant success in their ongoing counter -terrorism operation.

The Military authorities who disclosed this development said troops operating under various security formations have intensified offensive operations against terrorist and bandit enclaves. This has forced several suspects to abandon arms and logistics items during encounters with security forces.

The troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Kebbi State have reportedly launched a coordinated assault on suspected Lakurawa terrorist hideouts in Dandi Local Government Area of the State.

The operation compelled the insurgents to retreat, leaving behind rocket-propelled grenade launchers, RPG warheads, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), motorcycles, battery chargers, and other items.

Security officials said the troops suffered no casualties during the operation.

The offensive was described by the military as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and deny criminal groups freedom of movement across the North-West.

Subsequently, Nigerian troops in the “North -East” have sustained pressure on terrorist elements through intelligence-led operations aimed at disrupting insurgent activities and supply chains.
