Engr. Farouk Audi blamed the water crisis in Minna and other areas in Niger State on decades of neglected, decayed infrastructure as well as rampant theft of water pumping equipment to sabotage government efforts.
To solve the acute portable water crisis , Engr. Farouk said the Niger State Farmer Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, approved a total overhaul of the water sector in the State.
This, he said, resulted in the expansion of the Minna Water Works reticulation network, while rehabilitation and upgrade works are ongoing in Chanchaga, Suleja, and New Bussa as well as comprehensive repairs on all water- related infrastructure, in order to improve access to potable water supply.
The Commissioner for Water resources applauded the people of Niger State for their patience and assured them that the Government is doing everything possible to provide a constant water supply across State.
He, however, called on the people of the State to support the New Niger Agenda of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umar Bago’s administration
