POLICE OFFICERS KILLED IN A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT

No fewer than two police operatives have been killed in a hit-and-run accident along the Osogbo/Gbongan Road in Oogi community, Osun State.
The Osun State Police Command, which incident on Thursday, disclosed that the victims, identified as Kehinde and Tobi were travelling on a motorcycle when a Lexus car rammed into them on Wednesday.
Addressing the journalists, spokesperson for the command, Abiodun Ojelabi, said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately after the crash, abandoning the car.
“The two police operatives were travelling on a motorcycle when they got hit. One Lexus car hit them. Kehinde and Tobi are the two operatives involved,” Ojelabi declared
Although, the police had launched a manhunt for the fleeing driver while both the Lexus vehicle and the motorcycle involved in the fatal accident had already been recovered
“We have launched probe into the accident, and we are tracking the driver of the car. The vehicle and motorcycle involved have been recovered and taken to station,” he stated.
The Osun State Police Command Spokesperson further disclosed that one of the deceased officers had already been buried in line with Islamic rites.
