2027 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: AMAECHI TO EMERGE AS ATIKU’S RUNNING MATE
Ahead of the 2027 Presidential election, the newly emerged Action Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar, is reportedly considering former Rivers Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has is running mate.
This development was disclosed by Multiple party insiders who are familiar with ongoing consultations between loyalists of both political heavyweights , fueling speculation of a strategic North-South alliance aimed at strengthening opposition chances in the next general election.
As of the time of filing this report, neither camp has issued any official confirmation, but sources within the coalition talks say Amaechi’s political structure, influence in the South-South region, and experience at the federal level are factors being seriously considered.
The senior opposition figure, who spoke on the condition of anonimity because he was not authorised to comment publicly, said:
“ The former Rivers Governor, Rotimi Amaechi remains one of the strongest political forces from the South-South. His experience and grassroots appeal make him a valuable option in any coalition arrangement.”
However, aides close to both Atiku and Amaechi insist discussions remain at a preliminary stage and no final decision has been
reached.
